I was browsing Pinterest after work today and I found this recipe for Nutella cookies.
They had 3 ingredients: Nutella, an egg, and some flour. I realized that I had all the ingredients and decided to give 'em a go! The original recipe asked for 1/4 cup of sugar as well, but the Pin on Pinterest said to scrap that.
My ingredients ended up being:
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
- 1/4 unsweetened apple sauce
I started out with the 3 original ingredients but I realized I didn't have enough Nutella, so I subbed in some peanut butter. The egg just wasn't enough on it's own for the dough to be moist, so I added some applesauce.
Preheat your oven to 350 F.
From there, I mixed everything in a large mixing bowl.
I then realized the dough wasn't moist enough, so I added the applesauce.
After you've mixed it all together, roll the dough in to balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. After they're in balls on the sheet, use a small cup and press down on each.
(Excuse my messy, BUT CLEAN, cookie sheet. I just can't get those stains off!)
Bake for 10 minutes!
These turned out pretty good! I'm glad I added the peanut butter, but to be honest, they need the sugar. I sprinkled some sugar on top before I ate the rest of my cookie and it tasted sooo much better! Maybe try a little less sugar than the 1/4 cup it's asking for or just roll the balls of dough in sugar before baking?
Send me the link if you decide to make these!
