...house! I've been so absent from a la Maxfield but for a good reason! This was definitely stressful, but it was worth it :)
We had viewed 2 other places and then this one, on the second Sunday of January. The first place we viewed was a mobile home in a trailer park that had had a ton of renovations done to it. Turns out, Rob would have to redo the electrical work, and then you have to pay a lot rent AND a mortgage every month. Totally not worth it! The second place was a brand new condo/townhome that I fell in love with...but it didn't have ANY yard. It definitely wasn't ideal because we have Gunner, and eventually we'll have children.
Our first home required a bunch of renovations. It's a half duplex bungalow and I don't think I could love it more! We taped, primed, and painted for like, a whole week. We moved in this previous Sunday (Feb 8) and are just about settled in. I can't wait for my Costco run this weekend so I can stop living off pizza and cans of soup!
Anywho, I'm sure you want to see some pictures. These pictures are from our last viewing before we got possession on January 30th. I'll be sure to post some updated pictures when we're settled and have finished the main renovations - like putting baseboards on and finishing the flooring.
Thanks for sticking around while we were making this huge life change!

Congratulations on buying your first home! Definitely a big accomplishment as a couple. I wish you lots of good memories in this home. Sounds like you have been busy, but for good reasons. Looking at the pictures your house looks really amazing. I look forward to seeing the after pictures when your done all the renovations. Hopefully you'll be able to relax more before too long. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I can't wait to see pictures of how you and your hubby have decorated your new apartment :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on buying a house! We bought our first home about a year and a half ago. It may be a lot of work, but it's so much fun to fix it up and make it your own! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy! It's a nice feeling, having our own place to work on. I keep hesitating hanging things on the walls because we rented for so long and that was a big no-no, haha! Congrats on buying your own home!
