OOTD // Friday

Shorts • Joe Fresh // Shirt • Reitmans // Bracelets • Sam Wish + DIY // Nail polish • Julep in Scarlett // Gloss balm • Covergirl/Rexall

Happy Friday, friends! Gosh, today couldn't have come sooner. It rained all week, but today the sun came out. It hailed this morning and I was for sure thinking that I wouldn't be able to wear my new lavender shorts, again, but the sun peeked from behind the clouds and hasn't disappeared since.

These shorts were SO comfortable! I think I'm going to go back to Superstore and buy one in each color next pay check. When you find a really good piece of clothing, do you go back and get it in each color? I got quite a few comments on the color. I styled them with one of the bracelets that Sam mailed me, and one that I DIY'd.

We don't have any plans again tonight, but tomorrow I'm babysitting my husband's nephews and niece. There's supposed to be a thunderstorm (according to my weather app), so I guess it's going to be movies with Aunty :)

What are your plans for the weekend?

OOTD

Cardigan • H&M || Similar
Tank top • Bluenotes || Similar
Necklace • Ardene
Nails • Impress Nails

I am loving braids right now! They go with almost anything, and they're really helping me keep my bangs out of the way. I am in desperate need of a hair cut and dye job! My cardigan and pink tank top were bought a loooonnngg time ago (think 5 years) and my pants were bought as recently as 2 weeks ago. I'm wearing some black capris from Reitmans today, but they're not in the pictures.

Today was full of stormy clouds and not enough food in my lunch. I totally ate vegetables all day, so tonight is pizza night! I'm hoping the husband agrees. I don't have my workout today, so I am definitely relaxing all evening.

What are your Wednesday evening plans?

What's In My Bag

Purse • Ardene
Make up bag • Rexall
Reusable bag • Reitmans
Wallet • Michael Kors
Bracelets • DIY
Sunglasses • Walmart

It has been so long since I've done one of these posts! I think the last time, was this one. I forgot how much fun they can be! My purse has changed since then, thank goodness, and it's only gotten bigger. I carry less day-to-day stuff in it, as I usually now have to shove an extra pair of socks and shoes, or a water bottle in there because of my job. I also usually wear black to work, and this bag goes SO well with it!

I bought all of the bags quite a while ago, so I don't think they're available, but I linked you to the stores anyways. The wallet was actually a gift, and I am so in love with it! Three of my lip glosses are home made, and the others were gifts or given to me as part of Influenster. I also have some Color Energy aromatherapy roll-ons in there. One is a headache relief, and the other an immune booster! They both smell amazing, and the headache one definitely helps take the nausea away when those headaches strike.

What's in your bag?

OOTD

Plaid button down Unknown
Black tank top Reitmans
White Capris Reitmans
Nail polish Julep in Scarlett
Mascara NYC

Today was definitely one of those days where I wanted to lay in bed and hang out with my husband. It definitely couldn't happen, so I opted to wear one of his button down tops. It doesn't help that the weather just sucks right now, as it just keeps raining and raining. I'm just thankful that it isn't snow! We don't have any plans tonight, so it's leftovers for dinner and some much needed Netflix.

What are your Monday evening plans?

Week's End // Link up!

SNAPSHOTS:

1|| It has been so hot in Alberta! Gunner keeps hogging the 2 fans that we have going in our room right now. But, he also loves this weather because it means more trips to the park and he gets to go in to the kiddie pool!

2|| I did NOT feel like painting my nails, but I wanted them to look nice, so I used my Impress Manicure set. I won them for completing my badge tasks for Influenster! After a night's sleep, an AM shower, and doing my hair, they've held on pretty good. I had to cut and file them, but I love it!

3|| It brightens up my day when my friends send me snapshots of their weeks. It's been so nice, so my friend decided to chalk up the pathway in her backyard. Isn't it so colorful??

4|| My husband can't have gluten, so I'm always kind of looking for some gluten free flour to use. I usually just go with Bob's Red Mill, but I had heard a lot about the Robin Hood stuff. Well, I made banana bread for a potluck at work....it did NOT turn out so well. Even after adding an extra egg and banana, it still turned out so dry that I needed some water to actually swallow it.

YOU MAY HAVE MISSED:

1|| I reviewed my Julep Mystery Box! I finally got something other than nail polish in my box, and I wasn't disappointed. The colors? Not so much.

2|| My friend and I found some inspiration from Sam (My Latest Obsession) and made our own bracelets! They were fun and easy to make.

Thanks for catching up on my week with me! I want to make this a weekly thing, and my motivation came from Elizabeth's Link up! Be sure to check it out :)

How was your week?

Julep Golden Mystery Box Review

After a long wait, my Golden Mystery Box #3 arrived on Friday! I was so excited to open it! I usually get the Maven box and received 3 polishes and a little treat, but this time I received 5 polishes, 2 lip glosses, and some more flower seeds (I had received these before).

Sorry about the quality of the photos, I still only use my phone. I'm too broke to buy a good camera!

I tried on the lip gloss, and it's a nice subtle color and shine. It's a bit sticky, but it doesn't taste bad at all. My vote is for the clear, but the red one will be nice for a date night!

Red Gloss.

Clear Gloss.

To tell you the truth, I'm a little bit disappointed in the colors. It's May, and it feels like they just dumped a bunch of winter overstock on us Mystery Box buyers, which I was a bit hesitant about when I bought it. I think I'm for sure going to try out the red (Scarlett) and the grayish blue one (Stevie) (far right). Maybe I'll try out the other 3 colors in the fall and winter, but it's definitely not the season to wear them right now.

If you want to try out Julep, your first month is free! Just click my affiliate link below, take the quiz, and enter 'FREEBOX' at the checkout!

Craft Night!

This past Saturday, my friend from work came over and we decided to have a craft night. We ventured out to Wal Mart and Michaels, and found all of our supplies to make...bracelets! I received some bracelets in the mail a while ago from Sam, as part of Craft it Forward. I recently wore them to work and my coworker was pawing at them all day, saying that she loved them. We brainstormed, and figured that we could make some of our own. Sam did a way better job on hers though, and she sells them in her shop! Hers also fit a little nicer. If you like these bracelets, you should definitely check out her shop :)

We used some cheap bangles, wrapped them in strips of fabric, and then coiled some wire around it. They're a bit tight, but I love the fabric I chose.

These were really fun to make! We're currently trying to think up some more cheap and simple crafts to do for next craft night. Do you have any ideas?
