Week's End // June 8

SNAPSHOTS:
• Lately I've been experimenting with my hair, including some new braid ideas and using a triple barrel curler for the first time! My hair finally held some curl.
• I bought some super cheap nail polish from Ardene, and it's lasted for over a week now. I can't seem to find it anymore, but I use O.P.I top coat.

WHAT YOU MAY HAVE MISSED:
• I reviewed my ImPressManicure Vox Box from Influenster.
• I shared a yummy gluten-free, mini meatloaf recipe. So tasty!
• Monday's OOTD included a nice pop of a green cardigan!
• I changed my blog's name! It's no longer "A Broke Bride" and it's now "a la Maxfield" I posted a small update here.

SOME GOOD READS:
• Shelby shared what she carries in her bag! I love that her items always have a story behind them.
• Mmm! Coffee, chips, and chocolate sounds so tasty...but she wore it!
• Sam shared the eating raw basics that she goes by, as part of her weight loss and goal of living healthier.
• Kory shared an amazing June desktop wallpaper! It's currently in use on my desktop :)

On top of all the great things that happened this week, I also started a Facebook page for a la Maxfield! You can find it here! If you were following A Broke Bride on Bloglovin, please switch over to following a la Maxfield! I'm also in the process of receiving a new design for the new blog name! It will also have a giveaway when the design is live ;)

Impress Vox Box!

Finally after waiting almost a month after my tracking code said it was "delivered", I received my Impress Manicure Vox Box from Influenster! It appears as if the post man/woman forgot to put a key in my slot after they delivered it, so I couldn't open up the big parcel slot in our mail box.

Anyways, I love Impress by Broadway Nails! If you follow me on Instagram, or have seen some of my recent posts, you'll have seen me trying out some pink nails from them. They lasted about 4 days, and only because I had to do a very hands-on task at work, and they started to peel off afterwards.

Even though the box labels the nails as "short", they definitely weren't. I ended up having to cut and file them down to a functional length, and I think they lasted much longer because of this. As a result of cutting and filing them, the glue that is used to keep the nails on started to pill and collect all sorts of dust, and snag a bit on my clothes. I kept having to pick the pills off, and it resulted in taking some of the sticky glue out from underneath the nail, which I feel also contributed to them coming off after 4 days.

Even during my small struggle with the glue fiasco, I would still recommend these to friends (and you!), and I would buy them! I am still not a fan of the crackle polish look, so I was a bit disappointed they sent those to me again, but the other design looks pretty cute. I've got my eyes on some zebra print ones, though!

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

An Update

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hey there :)

As you can probably see, my sidebar and footnote images aren't working right now. My friend, Allison from craftedlove.com, is working super hard to fix the issue.

BUT

Instead of just finding the images and loading them again, we're changing the designs, INCLUDING my blog's name change! It was previously "A Broke Bride" and as you can see, the top header says "a la Maxfield"! I'm no longer a bride, just a wife now. My posts have changed from planning a wedding to lifestyle, including DIYs, OOTD, recipes, and just general posts about what's going on in my life.

I hope you stick around and enjoy in all the fun around here :) When the layout design is ALLLLL finished, I'm going to host a pretty cool giveaway with the name change. I'll keep you updated!
